Your older boss with the bad eyesight and the stubborn refusal to wear glasses. Good luck convincing him not to run it at 1280x1024 and then complaining that all your software has graphics stretched weirdly out of shape.
For business cases, where high DPI doesn't really matter, but cost does. For those who do not sit close to their screens. For people with less-than-great eyesight. Lots of people. Just because a product doesn't suit you does not mean there isn't a market for the product. I'm confident HP will know their market better than any of us.
1440p should be the norm for monitors in the 22-27 range. I buy Acer G257HU by the half-dozen for my office, only monitor that makes sense from a price / spec standpoint for office use.

72% of NTSC? Am I wrong, or is that less than sRGB from 1996?andychow - Monday, January 8, 2018 - link
Actually, sRGB is about 72% of NTSC gamut. So NTSC from 1953 is more than sRGB from 1996.Qasar - Tuesday, January 9, 2018 - link
