What makes this different than the 100's of other hot-swap SATA cases out there?

How about an upgraded Momentus.XT Hybrid laptop hard drive. Something with a little bigger SSD and tweaked to perform better. Also, something above 500GB please. That I am actually in need of :) (as compared to...)

Don't know how long that Seagate connection will be around, but it's kind of cool for the time being. I could actually make use of it I suppose, since I've got both a 3.5" and 2.5" drive using it now.

To be honest their connection is a standard SATA power+data connection like in a laptop. So instead of having two different heads for power and data like on a desktop, they are on the same connector on the GoFlex connectors (that supply power). You can connect any bare drive using the GoFlex connector.

I can verify that too! Went to Best Buy to find a hard drive dock because I was out of town with a friend and they needed to recover deleted files from a drive and the only thing we had that was big enough to put the recovered data to was their desktop drive, which obviously wouldn't fit the 2.5" enclosure I had. Found a $20 GoFlex USB/Firewire dock that has external power and the desktop drive connected without a hitch.
