Beat its own estimate by 3 days, this is really welcome over the weekend.

Acknowledges and fixes in a few days, 3 days before estimate...

I remember Apple and the Phone 4 signal issue when holding it around:

Day1: "You are holding it wrong"
Month 2: "We will fix it"
Month 4: "Reworks algorithm that display more signal for the same amount"

    :D

""Reworks algorithm that display more signal for the same amount""

the did not do that at all they in fact did the reverse, they spread the signal bars they way it should be done

not that the above Fixed the issues with the antenna gate issue (fix for that is the a phone case as you cant bridge the gap on the phone with the case fitted)

what it does do is give you an good overview of your signal and shows how bad the signal is where you are instead of lie-ing about good signal, as 4 and 5 bars did before (Android really need to do it as well use the iPhone layout but start from the second iPhone bar as Android only has 4 bars, use the no bars for -108 or lower signal)

that was an mess that post i blame the keyboard as its not my pc i am at (but you get the point about the signal bars now been spread out now on iPhone if Android would do it so signal bars are correctly shown that be useful)

that link in it self explains it all

So there's a software fix, AND they give back $100? That is some awesome support, Nokia. Must be the best essentially free smartphone (well, on contract, but still) out there for those who got it. Much better handled than any such problem, naming no names, in recent memory.

Love my 900, only gripe I have is the camera, not sure if it's the optics or software interface but pictures are not as good as my iPhone 4. Now the UI is by far the best of any mobile OS out there, never hiccups, studders, or crashes, just runs silky smooth. Where this OS shines is communication, it's the biggest separator pitting it against IOS and Android. All my FB, LinkedIn, and twitter updates are done directly through contacts. If one of my friends posts an update on FB I see it in the contacts list. No need to install FB app, post a reply, post a status update whatever you want, right through your contacts, love this feature. Move over android there is a new Sherif in town for mobile OS's it is wp7.5, if you haven't looked at it yet, I highly recommend you do.

It does seem strange, Nokia was always at the forefront of phone camera quality. Maybe they haven't optimized the software around WP7 yet, or maybe its because they don't have free reign over the SoC, or maybe its just plain old cost constraint.

yeah, very weird for a nokia cam. the pictures I've seen look like there's something wrong with the camera software? I wouldn't be surprised if the white balance problems disappeared after some future update...

They did increase the image quality in the 800 with a software update, its possible they could do it further. Maybe its just optimizing in the new OS.

Is camera the only issue you have? I have issues like deleting email from Gmail account archives instead of deletes, read status, move and delete operations are not pushed, norwegian locale adds SV: instead of RE: to messages messing up email threading, yahoo mail cannot be pushed, no text wrap in IE (very small text on anandtech and techreport), no custom alarms, or use music, cannot set alarm volume level, cannot rotate map with compass and more...

LiveTiles and messaging, people hubs, onenote sync and combined email inbox are great though.
