    Am I the only one who likes bare modules, or just ones with a minimal of a heatsink as possible? I've never seen the need for a very big heatsink, I'd rather have low clearance modules that aren't flashy.

    Same here/ I much prefer low-profile or ultra-low-profile stuff like Samsung's DDR3 UDIMMs that are shorter than the clips holding it in place.

    More likely it will end up in the hands of laptop vendors who realize that by soldering the flash on they now have two features they can charge exorbitant markups for going beyond the base model instead of only one.
